  2. WA Wage Increase Lowest in 20 Years

    Whilst job numbers are up, including WA, which is welcome news, ABS data shows private sector wage growth is only 1.7%, the lowest since 1997 when this data was first collected.

  3. Open House Perth 2017

    Since 2012, Open House Perth has facilitated over 220,000 visits to designated locations. This year, they’re offering industry based organisations the opportunity to be involved and partner the event. Click here if you’re interested.

    Representatives of the Building Commission recently provided an information seminar in Esperance discussing the Building Code of Australia and common technical interpretation issues. Click here to read more.

  5. Black Economy Task Force

    Master Builders Director Michael McLean will be meeting with the “Black Economy Taskforce” next week. Click here for a copy of the Interim Taskforce Report. Members can make submissions in response by 30 June or attend a public forum at Perth Townhall from 12.30-2.00pm on Tuesday, 30 May.

  7. West Coast Fever Indigenous Round

    This Saturday will be the fourth consecutive season West Coast Fever have hosted a dedicated Indigenous Round which will hold extra significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum.   8. Reminder About IT Security

    Members are reminded to be vigilant with IT malware and spam. After being identified as a Master Builders member, several companies have received email spam about acquiring potential client lists to sell your products and services to. Please delete all related emails.

  9. Government Minister Meetings

    Small Business Minister Paul Papalia met with a delegation from Master Builders this week. Issues discussed included Buy Local and Security of Payment. The Minister agreed to consult with us on issues likely to impact on our industry. We meet with the Local Government Minister on 7 June.

  10. Lawn Bowls Competition

    Master Builders Bowling Club is hosting the annual James Wall Cup tournament at Sorrento Bowling Club next week. WA is the reigning champion amongst other MBA Clubs.
