Association Rules
As previously notified in Express, our Board has resolved to change some Association Rules and apply to the WA Industrial Relations Commission to ratify the alterations. Under the Rules, members must be given notice of the proposed changes and be advised of their right to object. The required Notice and explanatory information is here.

Commonwealth Funded Training
There are many unemployed youth between the ages of 17 and 24 currently undergoing Commonwealth funded training. These job seekers are paid by the Commonwealth and employers who take them on in internships for 4 to 12 weeks will receive $1,000. Employers who hire them after the internship receive up to $10,000. Payment Disputes Drop
There has been a surprising drop in the number of payment disputes being referred to rapid adjudication under the Construction Contracts Act. Adjudication is quick and relatively cheap and Master Builders, as a Prescribed Appointor under the Act, provides an efficient nomination process. Contracts Manager Charles Anderson can provide guidance on this payment dispute resolution process or visit the Building Commission’s website.
