Skilling Australia Fund Allocation
Master Builders has met with the Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, Karen Andrews, to find out how the Skilling Australia Fund intends to allocate $3 billion to support 300,000 extra apprenticeships over the next four years; on top of the $2.7b already available.

Changes to Association’s Rules
We are expecting the WA Industrial Relations Commission’s decision shortly on proposed amendments to the Association’s Rules. If approved, there will be changes to the Board structure, the President’s role and more practical arrangements for election to our policy-making Councils.

Rise of Cybercrime
Master Builders continues to hear of instances of cybercrime including fraudulent attempts to divert substantial payments away from builders and subcontractors. Incidents (such as emails claiming to advise of new bank account details for payments) should be reported to ACORN, the Government’s Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network website, for police investigation.
