  1. Don’t Waste this Opportunity

    Members are again reminded of proposed changes regarding legislative reform of waste management and the waste levy. The suggestions have potentially negative impacts for industry. The public consultation period closes today. Members are strongly encouraged to review the discussion paper and send their comments to Jason. Thanks to those who have provided feedback to date.

  2. Bans on Working on or Near Live Electrical Equipment

    The McGowan Government last week introduced bans on working on or near live electrical equipment in residential roof spaces. The change was flagged in 2016 and generally accepted by industry as necessary. Energy Safety/Worksafe will issue a Code of Practice to assist employers understand the new obligations. Master Builders has asked Worksafe for details.

  3. Be Heard on Road and Rail Noise

    The WA Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on proposed changes to State Planning Policy 5.4 Road and Rail Noise and its associated guidelines. A key objective of this policy is to minimise the impact of road and rail noise on noise-sensitive land uses and protect WA’s key transport corridors.
