  1. Construction Industry Reference Committee

    Master Builders National Director, Workforce Development and Training, Robert Wilson has been appointed to the body that determines qualification reviews for our industry and makes recommendations on training and apprenticeship issues. Reviews are planned for high risk training units and qualifications, Certificate I and II in construction, bricklaying, carpentry and joinery.

    Renae Harding is now heading up Jackson McDonald’s workplace relations and safety team following Stephen Kemp’s resignation.   4. Community Link to Architects and Builders

    Australia’s Bridge has re-launched itself as COLAB - Community Link to Architects and Builders. COLAB’s mission is to connect built environment professionals with WA based community organizations in need of pro-bono and low cost services. Click here to view COLAB’s website.

  5. New organisation established to assist with sub-contractor entitlements

    A new organisation known as Sub-Contractors WA has been established to assist subbies who claim they haven’t been paid their due entitlements. MBA will be meeting with the organisation next week to discuss a range of security of payment issues.

  6. Assistance required for house in Helena Valley

    Mesothelioma warrior Peter Rafferty lost his battle with mesothelioma last week. For those who have volunteered on his home previously, we thank you enormously but are still in need of a garage door, fixtures (e.g. sinks/taps) and concrete for a driveway.
