  5. NATSPEC spec writing seminar

    NATSPEC is holding a seminar on specifications in Perth on Thursday 20 July. It will provide an introduction to specification writing and cover detailed use of SPECbuilder Live, developed for use on all operating systems. Cost is $88. Click here to register.

  6. Cheaper adjudication in the offing

    The Building Commission is calling for expressions of interest from adjudicators to provide fixed fee or low cost rapid adjudication. Adjudication offers a quick way to resolve payment disputes but can be too expensive for low value claims. EOI information here.

  9. Testimonial dinner

    Master Builders is hosting a testimonial dinner for our outgoing national CEO, Wilhelm Harnisch in Canberra today. About 130 guests, including several politicians and CEO’s, will be in attendance. This function coincides with a national Board meeting in Canberra. Housing Affordability Minister, Michael Sukkar met with us at Parliament House yesterday.

  11. National Survey

    Members are reminded the Master Builders National Survey is now online. The information gathered from the Survey is an invaluable tool to our members for business planning as well as a critical piece of information used in our advocacy efforts. The Survey is distributed to all major Government Departments and Federal Ministers, including the Reserve Bank, and is widely regarded as the eminent survey of business conditions and prospects in the building and construction industry.   12. Government announces increase

    The McGowan Government has announced moves to increase the lump sum payout upon the workplace death of an employee from $304,000 to $554,000.  A dependents’ weekly allowance will also increase from $58.10 to $133.00. Master Builders will await the Bill which is being currently prepared.
