  1. Still Time To Comment

The Department of Planning has released updated draft Development Control Policies (DCP) for public comment. The DCPs relate to the general principles for subdivision of land and development control as well as general road planning, regional road access and special residential zones. The draft policies are available at Planning WA. Written submissions can be made by email or by post.

  2. Cladding Amendment Preview

In preparation for the adoption of the NCC 2016 Volume One Amendment 1 (the Amendment) by all States and Territories from 12 March, the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) has released a preview. This clarifies the NCC requirement that cladding on certain commercial buildings must not lead to the spread of fire. This has been done by refining the wording in the NCC Volume One and through the adoption of a new verification method based on new Australian Standard AS 5113 - Fire propagation testing and classification of external walls of buildings.
