    Construction Sites to Continue Through Lockdown 31/01/2021

    Today’s announcement by the Premier to apply a 5 day lockdown in the Perth metropolitan area, Peel and the South-West regions is an important step to stop the spread of COVID-19. "After discussions with the Premiers office and Master Builders, I am pleased to confirm building and construction sites will continue to operate through the WA state lockdown, however masks must be worn at all times and practice good hygiene and social distancing" said John Gelavis, Executive Director of Master Builders Association of WA.

  2. Master Builders President and new board elected 28/01/2021

    Master Builders WA welcomes new board members for 2021 under the leadership of re-elected President David Crothers, of Geraldton builder Crothers Construction, and newly elected Vice President Michael Van Dongen from Encon. Master Builders executive director John Gelavis said places on the board and councils were hotly contested this year from both metropolitan and regional WA, which showed strong member engagement and recognition of the successful work of the association during COVID-19.

  3. Skyrocketing stats as building leads recovery 20/01/2021

    The latest building approvals data released for October has skyrocketed as the building and construction industry leads the COVID-19 recovery saving many jobs and helping the local economy. Master Builders WA Executive Director John Gelavis said the skyrocketing 103.7% per cent increase for WA dwelling approvals for October 2020 compared to October 2019 and 98.2 per cent increase on the previous quarter demonstrates the state and commonwealth stimulus is having the desired results, which will lead to more local jobs, greater levels of home ownership and deliver a thriving local economy.
