Perkins Builders
Founded in 1965 Perkins began as a Bunbury-based contractor pursuing a diverse range of commercial, industrial and civil engineering projects throughout the southwest of Western Australia. Perkins has grown into one of the state’s major commercial builders, with offices in Perth and Bunbury, and an annual turnover now over $150m. With a strong management team, Perkins is committed to project delivery, service and integrity. A youth policy of recruiting high quality tradesmen to staff positions along with career progression opportunities means that Perkins now retains over 100 direct employees, supplemented by up to 300 sub-contractors on a project by project basis. This ensures that top quality personnel are always available to manage and deliver client projects, large and small. The key to delivering successful client outcomes is our own integrated Building Management System, which underlies all processes including financial, employee, safety, quality and environmental management.Certified systems include AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management, AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Systems, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme. The company is backed by significant financial resources, including a substantial portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. This asset base provides sufficient security to enable Perkins to carry an order book of over $400 million. Perkins has had numerous MBA Excellence in Construction and Building Excellence Awards category winners at State level throughout the years. In 2011 Perkins was awarded the National Excellence in Building and Construction Award for the “National Commercial/Industrial Construction Award - $10 million to $20 million” for the Bunbury Cathedral Precinct. Whilst it is gratifying to receive such recognition from its peers in the industry, Perkins applies the same attitude to client service and attention to detail to every project it undertakes.
