Master Builders is a Registered Training Provider with the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia. Our Training Centre takes great pride in offering training courses that meet the needs of employers, employees, contractors, supervisors and managers in the building and construction industry.
Our training courses are continually reviewed and updated to include the latest legislation, codes and standards. The majority of them are subsidised by the Construction Training Fund, with Master Builders’ bulk billing arrangement with the CTF, enabling participants to only pay for the remaining balance of the course. We only use trainers who are qualified and have relevant industry experience. We have an established relationship with a number of alliance partners as well as contract trainers that allows us to offer a wide range of training courses.

Established in 1989, the Master Builders Safety Department provides a range of safety services designed to support members and the general public meet requirements under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (1984) and supporting Regulations (1996).

SITE INSPECTIONS AND SAFETY AUDITS
Master Builders have standing arrangements to conduct safety inspections on members’ projects in metropolitan Perth and at regional locations. Inspections are carried out on a random and unannounced basis to identify matters which may cause serious harm to workers; impact on public safety; or will attract an improvement/prohibition notice from WorkSafe WA inspectors.
The service is utilised by both public agencies, such as the Department of Housing and Works and private builders in the housing and commercial/industrial sectors of the industry. Members are entitled to obtain written safety reports at discounted rates.
Safety advice and assistance is available to all members and can be accessed over the phone, by email or through an in-depth face to face appointment. Our services include safety management plans; job safety analysis and method statements; safety induction booklets.
The Master Builders, on a number of occasions have presented, in collaboration with WorkSafe WA and others, industry specific forums on topics pertinent to reducing accidents at work sites and in raising industry awareness on those topics. Examples include: Public Safety Forum; Noise Forum; Role of WorkSafe WA; Scaffolding Forum; Injury Management.

Members of Master Builders have access to technical advice and preliminary support provided by our Technical Adviser via email or through our technical hotline.
We can assist members with technical aspects of housing and commercial building ranging from the application of the Building Code of Australia and referenced Australian Standards to issues of local authority interpretation.
We can provide consultancy services, including Private Certification to all members at a discounted rate.
We can also provide Energy Efficiency Compliance services to members in the metropolitan and regional areas. We have teamed with two accredited assessors, Ken Bazant of Environs Design Group and Eddie Roe from True North, that can calculate home ratings and suggest improvements to increase the star-ratings, with cost effective recommendations.
