About Master Builders WA

Master Builders WA exists to strengthen the industry that builds Western Australia. We represent member interests, advocate for regulatory reform, and provide practical services that help construction businesses operate successfully.

What we do

Aside from our strong advocacy, we support our members with specialised services including digital and hard-copy contracts, training, technical and building advice, and professional services support across legal, insurance, workplace relations, and workplace health and safety.

Where we operate

Master Builders WA proudly represents members across the entirety of our great state – from Peppermint Grove to Pannawonica! Headquartered in West Perth, we also have staffed offices in Albany and Bunbury.

Master Builders Australia

MBAWA is part of Australia’s oldest industry association, Master Builders Australia. Whilst each state and territory has its own autonomous body, the national federation represents more than 32,000 member organisations throughout Australia, allowing the free flow of information and state input into national matters and lobbying.

Master Builders is also part of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Association.

Governance

Underpinned by a commitment to integrity and transparency, strong governance ensures Master Builders WA remains strictly accountable to our members. This framework guarantees that we stay representative of the diverse construction sector and deeply aligned with the industry’s evolving needs, fostering trust and delivering consistent, high-value leadership across Western Australia.

Board of Management

Our Board provides overall governance of the Association and helps guide strategic direction and policy priorities. Representation is structured to reflect the breadth of the industry across housing and construction, with additional roles being filled by specialists in industry-aligned fields.

How decisions are informed

Our councils and committees support policy development and practical guidance on industry issues. They respond to emerging challenges, regulatory change and sector-specific needs.

The role of the Construction Council is to identify emerging industry issues and develop appropriate policy relevant to the commercial and civil construction sectors.

The composition of our Councils and Committees is important to provide robust, reflective discussion, and we aim to have representatives present from companies of various size and focus.
