INTRODUCTION TO THE WHS ACT

WHY ATTEND?

With the recent changes to the Work Health and Safety Act we break down the jargon and explore the key changes in legislation affecting WA businesses, employers and employees.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

This course will make you aware of the following changes to the WHS Act:

  • Introduction to the change in penalties
  • Terminology used in the Act and Regulations
  • Overview of the duties
  • Definition and understanding of Incidents (including Industrial Manslaughter, Insurances and Incident notifications)
  • Changes to the WHS Regulations 2022

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

Special needs groups are welcome to attend this course.  Students who disclose language, literacy or other disabilities, will be treated with the strictest confidentiality and will be interviewed by the Trainer/Assessor to establish the most appropriate support mechanisms. Course delivery and content does not assume gender, ethnicity or language skills.
