The Women in Building and Construction (WinBaC) forum provides educational and networking opportunities for women engaged in the building and construction industry. Courses on industry related topics and business strategies, plus networking lunches form part of the Master Builders annual calendar of events.
WinBaC is aimed at developing a peer network through which women can learn, share experiences, problems, issues and outcomes. WinBaC understands and supports the diversity within the membership with participants coming from large and small businesses, some with many years of experience and some new to the industry and business.
Training is structured and topical, but delivered in a friendly, non-threatening environment where questions are encouraged. This, along with the opportunity to relax, network and have fun at social events is the main value cited by members who regularly participate.
For many women in a male-dominated industry, networking is often difficult. In May 2011, Master Builders held a networking seminar on networking hosted by Ron Gibson. For information on 'How to Enjoy and Get the Most out of Business Networking' click here.
